The Grove was a modest cotton plantation located in central Leon County, Florida and established by Richard Keith Call in the 1830s. Call was also owner of Orchard Pond Plantation.
In 1942, The Grove and its history passed to Mary Call Darby Collins and became the home of the late Gov. LeRoy Collins and his wife, Mary, great-granddaughter of Call. The Collinses sold the home and remaining land to the state for eventual use as a museum. LeRoy Collins is buried at The Grove Cemetery.
As a young child, Audrey spent time in Europe, and was influenced by the statues and architecture around her, inspiring her to choose architectural illustration as her profession. Audrey Peaty & Associates has been in business for over 25 years in Tallahassee where Audrey provides Architectural Illustrations for builders and developers of homes and buildings under construction. Working from blueprints and photos Audrey completes beautiful water color and ink paintings for commercial buildings and private home owners. With all this technical work to do by day, Audrey uses a more relaxed style of painting in her private collection, which she shows and sells locally.
